Are you Employed by a Major or Independent Oil Company?

Major
Independent

No

We will talk next issue about the correct application of rate of return versus cost of capital and the benefits and pitfalls of using one over the other.

Darcy's Law still has everyday applicability

Have you ever thought about trying to use Darcy's Law to help find oil and gas? Some of the most economically profitable acquisition candidates are those properties with the greatest production facility disabilities. High PI wells, even at low volumes will result in significant increases in productivity when you can effectively lower flowing bottom hole pressure. Searching public databases for high PI wells will invariably result in substantially more profitable acquisition candidates, every time you find one!

CEC Energy Consultants assisted Tulsa-based Helmerich & Payne in the identification and evaluation of merger candidates, which resulted in a successful merger of H&P with Denver-based Key Production to form Cimarex Energy.

CEC Energy Consultants combines with Rike Services to provide the US Commerce Department with training courses for Russian Oil & Gas Executives in the area of Concession Negotiation, Risk Assessment and Mitigation, and modern Economic Evaluation processes.

This is it…the first issue of the CEC Energy Consultants Business Development and Engineering Technology Newsletter! Whether you're a Business Development Project Manager trying to obtain an edge to secure oil and gas property assets for your company or trying to stay up with the engineering technology curve, or just trying to keep focused while managing remote operations all over the world, CEC Energy Consultants can help you stay ahead of the pack.

Please join us as each quarter as we provide some real-world examples of how you can use current technology to increase personnel and corporate productivity, improve your company's drilling success and performance, mitigate your inherent risks, and improve your confidence in your own abilities so you can start enjoying life a little more and reduce some of the stress in your life!

Each quarter I will write about and illustrate specific examples of how you can improve your odds of identifying profitable acquisition and/or drilling prospect leads as well as how to perform advanced engineering analysis with current industry software applications.

If you feel this newsletter would be of benefit to someone you know, please feel free to forward a copy as well as distribute anything I make available in this newsletter to your staff and employees. What will be the cost of the newsletter you ask, well its free to anyone and everyone that wants to be on our mailing list. I have spent almost 30 years of my career generating business development opportunities, and I know how difficult it is to find personnel who can truly generate new ideas and not just be evaluators of available public transactions or prospects. It is my hope that this newsletter might be inspirational as well as instructional, to encourage new and old geoscientists and engineers to improve their prospecting and analytical skills, and to help improve your success and efficiency in finding oil and gas.

We hope this newsletter will bring you new inspiration and success in your quest to find oil and gas with today's new technological tools.

Sincerely,

Mike Cherry, P. E.
