How can CEC Energy Consultants change your perspective toward the technological advances in our industry?
I want to take the time in this segment to make you aware of some of the capabilities and expertise of CEC Energy Consultants. We have the engineering expertise to assist on projects requiring reservoir engineering or business development capability. We have extensive experience in all of the major on-shore basins in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and the Rockies, and have a very extensive database in all parts of the Mid-Continent, including geological interpretations and engineering evaluations in both the Anadarko and Arkoma basins.
We have taught geology, engineering, log evaluation, economics and operations (production, completion and drilling) courses with Jim Rike for majors, independents and international companies. I have also spoken at numerous AAPG meetings on advanced engineering, petraphysical and geologic applications using Petra, and according to Geoplus am probably one of the most advanced engineering users of Petra in the industry. We have software licenses and extensive experience using Petra, Petraseis, Aries (Windows/DOS), Phdwin, Power Tools, and Digital Formation's LESA petraphysical workstations. We also have a license for Gemini Solution's Merlin reservoir simulation model and Decision Engineering's Crystal Ball. We also have an excellent staff who provide digitizing services using DigiRule and Neuralog, for digitizing maps and log data for clients.
I have attempted to establish myself in the Houston market since I left Tulsa almost 2 years ago, and moved CEC Energy Consultants to Houston for several specific purposes, one of which is to assist companies with transactional needs, such as we have done with Helmerich & Payne and are currently doing with KLT Gas where we have been retained to assist with the evaluation of merger candidates and/or the ultimate liquidation of corporate assets and personnel. We are also aiding companies in the identification of business development transactions for growth opportunities in addition to helping to find funding for projects where equity infusion or financial restructuring is required.
We have recently added a highly experienced geophysicist, Tom Wittick, where we are providing clients with developmental geophysics capability where we incorporate reservoir engineering input to calibrate seismic data that results in providing high resolution capability to identify subtle structural and stratigraphic reservoirs that will help mitigate drilling risks. His services are also available on a day rate basis to clients that need interpretation capability of existing seismic or geophysics support.
Another focus that our business strategy calls for is to solicit engineering and operations outsourcing projects, in that we have started to accumulate clients that are wanting to outsource all of their engineering and operations staff functions, and we are providing those services to startup companies that didn't want to have the G&A burden. It seems lately that many companies when they sell out and the principals are thinking about starting over, are considering this option as a viable option to avoid having to staff up again and deal with the headaches of another operations staff. We have the staff and personnel to handle any and all operational needs, both from an engineering standpoint as well as in the field.
Finally, as part of our acquisition and due diligence support effort, we have the expertise of a first class IT professional, Les Seibert, that has worked with me extensively in the past in providing integration capability to clients who are primarily acquisition companies. We have the capability to provide a seamless interface of acquired properties, for any accounting, production or engineering systems that exist between buyer and seller. We are able to provide capability to perform this aspect without client's having to lose existing corporate efficiency by pulling off needed personnel to assist in the integration of newly acquired properties into corporate systems. His services are also available on a day rate basis to clients that need IT capability or support of any form. We can also maintain and administer network systems on an outsource basis and believe we can greatly improve your technological support and security.
